TVFCU Black Business Month- Unveiled Bridal Studio
August 20, 2021
Here comes the bride
Growing up, many of us were told by our parents and friends to, “follow your heart and your dreams will come true.” While most of us enjoyed this saying, very few of us actually followed this advice. Except for Veatrice Conley. Talk about a dreamer. She not only pursued her love of engineering but also her love of someday being a fashion designer and entrepreneur. She never veered away from this unique combination. Sure this type of journey isn’t easy. But when things in life start gaining traction, the ride is oh so sweet. Hop on board!
Unveiled Bridal Studio
Engineering Design seemed like the perfect college degree. After getting her diploma, Veatrice spent several years in corporate America putting her skills to good use. This Nashville native somehow discovered Chattanooga and its vibrant small business scene. Remembering what she once heard about following your heart, she opened up Unveiled Bridal Studio on Cherry Street, right in the middle of the COVID pandemic. She created a store that caters to brides who crave an extraordinary experience. A business where style, individuality and a glass of champagne are all part of the buying experience. By the way, I forgot to tell you that she still works full time as an engineer and does fittings after work.
Juggle it all
Veatrice juggles a lot of responsibilities in life. But, she views each day as a positive lesson for her little girl who sees a mom encompass compassion, hard work and creativity.
Will someone listen?
Minority small business owners, often lament the feeling of not being accepted or listened to when applying for a loan or presenting a business plan. Luckily for Veatrice, she not only discovered TVFCU and the Idea Leap Loan Initiative, but she also found a credit union and lending staff that is proud to support new community endeavors and businesses that nourish the entire city. TVFCU and Veatrice have become a perfect match. As someone once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
